N3C has something for everyone this summer!

School is out! The rock is dry! The sun is bright and warm! There is so much to be done in the North Country in the summertime. This year, N3C is your summer adventure enabler! We have expanded our offerings and will be doing lots of really cool stuff for adults, kids, and the whole family. Come play with us!

Summer Hours at N3C

Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays: 3pm to 10pm
Tuesdays & Thursdays: 10am to 10pm
Saturdays & Sundays: 10am to 6pm
There are three important addendum to these hours:
  • We will be open extended hours when the weather is bad (just keep an eye on Facebook for updates!)
  • As always, we are happy to open earlier for special events and groups. Just call in advance!
  • As always, if no customers are climbing at N3C 45 minutes prior to our posted closing time, we might close early. If you are planning to drop in for a short climbing session after 9:15pm on a weeknight, please just call ahead and we will be sure to keep the gym open for you.

Father’s Day Specials

  • Father’s Day is this Sunday, June 19th. Most of us agree that dad is awesome and most of us feel that he’s tough to buy for. He doesn’t need another tie. (Trust me, he doesn’t!) He probably wants to spend quality time with his family. Or maybe quality time away from the family. (It all depends on the dad.)We have some suggestions that might (just might!) make you a hero this Father’s Day:
    • On Father’s Day, we are giving dads a free day pass at N3C (so long as they are climbing with a paying customer).
    • Also on Father’s Day, dads get a free Learn to Climb Package with a paying partner. This $35 value includes an introduction to climbing lesson, day pass, and rentals. The lesson is scheduled for 11:00 am. Please call in advance to reserve a spot.
    • Wouldn’t an evening of outdoor climbing be awesome for him? Well, you can get him a pass for one of our popular Thursday’s at the Crag programs for the usually member-only rate of only $20 (even if he’s not a member!).
    • Or you can just give him the gift of climbing – we offer gift certificates in any dollar value!

Longest Day BBQ on Monday 6/20

This year the summer solstice falls on Monday, June 20th. It’s looking like the official start of summer will be truly summer-like: sunny and pushing 90 degrees. Kick summer off right with us! We will be having a BBQ at the gym.

It should be a good time, with lots of burgers, dogs, veggie burgers, delicious libations, and just about anything else folks suggest. The BBQ will be FREE for members and simply the price of a climbing day pass for non-members.

Festivities to start at 7pm. We hope to see you there!

Summer Saturdays start 6/25

We told you we were planning to do more outdoor climbing this summer! Not only are we doing Thursdays at the crag from 5pm to dark on Thursdays, we are also kicking off a program on Saturdays that will give significantly more time to learn and practice outdoor skills.

N3C Adventure Day Camps

July 11-15 & August 1-5

These are the day camps that we wish we had been able to go to as kids! Hiking, climbing, rappelling, outdoor skills, etc. In other words: 8am to 4pm of awesomeness!

Asanas and Ales (in other words yoga and beer!)

Sometimes events are better than the sum of their parts. Yoga is good. Beer is good. Yoga + Beer is AMAZING! This is an all-level yoga (no, you don’t need to be an amazing yogi) & ale event –  ideal for anyone who is interested in exploring a lighthearted, fun, good times yoga practice & local beer from Shilling Beer Company!

What more could one want than awesome yoga and tasty brews?

Cost $25.00

Please preregister at North County Climbing Center to secure your spot, space is limited. Must be 21 to enjoy brews!!!

Ladies Only: Yoga + Intro to Outdoor Sport Climbing

Saturday, July 23rd, 9am – 5pm

This day out is perfect for women who are interested in starting to lead sport climbs outdoors, those who recently started leading, and those who have been leading a while but are interested in improving their skills, competence, and confidence.

The day begins with an hour of gentle Vinyasa flow yoga to get your body and mind in the right place for a great day of climbing. This yoga session will include a focus on the parts of the body most stressed while climbing, including your shoulders, neck, back, forearms, wrists, and hips.

The main part of the day will be lessons and practice sport leading (starting with mock leads and moving to honest-to-goodness sport leads). Your lead instructor, Sarah Audsley, is AMGA certified and is great at maintaining a light, fun atmosphere while helping clients stretch their comfort zones.

Then, after a good long day of climbing, we will finish with a gentle Yin yoga session, with a focus on releasing lactic acid from your muscles, stretching deep fascia tissue, and calming the mind and body. All yoga will be performed outdoors near the crag.

Cost $150.00
Please preregister at North County Climbing Center to secure your spot, space is limited. Weather dependent activity. Rain date is 7/30.

Restorative and Reiki Yoga Workshop

Sunday, July 24th, 5pm – 7pm

Restorative Yoga is a very relaxing, gentle and therapeutic practice. This practice is designed to restore the nervous system and help release deeply held tensions from the body and mind. While gently stretching and strengthening the body, this deep restorative work improves range of motion and joint mobility, reducing pain and the effects of stress. Learn to focus on breath, body awareness, and mindfulness. Appropriate for all students; no prior yoga experience required.

$15 per person. Pre-registration is required. Limited spots available.

Yup, there’s a lot going on this summer at N3C!!!
