Try out the transition from gym to crag without the investment! Join N3C outside on summer evenings for an awesome outdoor experience at an unbeatable price. Here’s what you need to know:

Climbers who want to gain outdoor experience under the leadership of an experienced instructor.

We will provide an introduction to outdoor climbing and will set up top ropes on a range of climbs that are appropriate difficulties for the participants in the group.

5pm on Thursday or Friday nights (check Facebook or call for specific dates!). We will continue climbing until participants get tired or it gets dark (whichever comes first!).

It will vary, but we often climb at Echo Crag in Franconia Notch. Park at the Governor Gallen Memorial on the east side of exit 34C off I-93. Please park to the right of the painted line and respect parking signs. If you arrive later than 5pm, the trail to the crag is to the south (right – which is toward the Notch) just on the east side of I-93 where the road makes a sharp left turn to go to the Governor Gallen Memorial.

Advance registration is necessary. Please reserve your spot by calling 603.838.5300 or emailing Note that you will need to have an N3C waiver on file to participate.

How much:

$25 for active N3C members and $35 for non-members. Rental gear provided if necessary!

What to bring:

Climbing shoes, harness, belay device and carabiner, chalk, helmet, water, and snacks. A camera is recommended, as the views from the tops of the climbs are pretty spectacular. Bug repellent is also a good idea! (If you need gear, please let us know in advance.)
